Hi Allison! I just bought a violin 3 weeks ago. I followed your beginner exercises/videos online to learn the basics and notes. I am part way into the Song Book 1, and LOVE that you include instructional videos with each song. That is a huge help! I get better each day. thank you for all the hard work you put into these! Follow her lessons on her YouTube Channel and use these downloads along with them. LISTEN to her when shes says, "You need to know this before continuing on!". You will thank yourself later in the lessons.

    Adult beginner

Posted by Yaso on 20th Sep 2020

The last time I picked up the violin was over 20 years ago, having to suddenly stop as our family had to leave the country we lived in in order to be safe. Now in my 31st birthday I decided to pick it up again, but have been too busy (and now with the pandemic) I haven’t had the chance to look for a tutor. I have now relearned not only how to play but how to hold the bow and violin properly, the song book 1 has an amazing collection of beginner songs and they’re super fun to practice. I can’t wait to be able to get to the more advanced ones, but I’m still only a week in and I’ve learned everything I recall from when I was 7. (Minus the notes, we used to read them out as do re mi haha). Highly recommend this and her YouTube videos!

Great and clear learning books and also the songbooks are great Allison did a great job on creating this easy to follow and understand course ( even if english is not my native language). When you want a good basis for learning to play the violin than this is the course you have to buy you won't regret it. Greets from the Netherlands a satisfied new student (Although I'm already 54, I know I'm getting old) Lieuwe (it's a nothern dutch name and for english people hard to pronounce even for me after a few drinks)
