Violin and Piano

I am using Alison's books and lessons for both violin and piano for my 4 kids! I do have a bit of background in music, but even so, I think anyone would find it simple enough to learn a new instrument (violin is new for me) without any background in music. Appreciate it that it is affordable,...otherwise violin lessons would never be an option for myself or my kids! THANK YOU!!!!!

Just. Started Song Book 1 as a beginner, so far so good. The book is designed to move learners at an acceptable pace.

Song Book 1 and Online Videos

The Song Book 1 pdf file was easy to download. The content has nice song selections, easy to read and print. Also, Alison's online video's have been very helpful for me as a beginner, from the basics regarding holding the violin, bowing, fingering, and equipment selection, tuning, re-stringing, etc.

I'm learning at 58 years old , I love music and decided that when I was in the 4th grade I wanted to learn to play. It has taken me this long to do that but it is a great tool, easy to ready .. thank you !! Bless you Elle

I don't like how some of the songs sound, but most of them are very fun to play and also challenging. The one song I love is leaving for the last time, so I'm glad to have the music sheet

What a great music book, it is so nice to be able to play "proper" music even when we are just beginners! This is a good challenge to go with practicing scales all day long. Great value, Thank you Alison.

Worthwhile

I am coming towards the end of this book and am very glad to have bought it. I definitely recommend, as without this book the temptation would be to attempt more complex pieces on the internet without building up to it properly. Whilst getting used to the fingering (via video lessons 1-10) was initially frustrating, using Alison's songbook 1 has really helped me to build the muscle memory and technique, and now I am excited to learn more. I have bought the Songbook and Book 2 bundle, to progress.
