I played the violin in high school but that was a long time ago. Now with a new 61 key keyboard I am having great fun learning how to play. The biggest challenge is associating the notes I read with the appropriate keys on the keyboard. I force myself not to look at the keyboard so I can learn by the correct sound and feel. Reading the bass clef is very confusing for me since I only used the treble clef before. It helps a lot to have the videos for each exercise so I can double check my timing and fingering. The best I've found, having the links to the video demonstrations by the actual author is what makes this work so well. Keep up the great work Alison!!! Unknown on 18th Mar 2016
A truly great approach using video, audio, diagrams and the written word to give the beginning student of piano a truly great launching pad from which to start learning how to play the piano. I also play the violin and have used many of Alison's You Tube videos on the violin to aid me with that. I have ordered several things from her in the past and always found them to be everything she said they would be. A job well done Alison and look forward to learning the piano with your instructional material.

Is has the right amount of the theory needed for a beginner and focuses in building separate technical skills for both hands. The progression of difficulty is smooth, but it is expected that will be increased, especially in the latest exercises. Unknown on 12th Feb 2016
This book is very understandable and its not boring so you are learning to play piano in a nice way.

And i can't thank enough the wonderful Alison for making this book and her youtube videos, im a begginer and i can actually play a lot more than i thought in just 1 month of purcharse! If you are doubting please stop and buy it, i totally recommend this for begginers. María José on 19th Nov 2015
I have wanted to learn to play the piano for a very long time. I decided at 50 that the time was now. I don't have a set schedule in my life so being able to go at my own pace on any day or time was necessary. Online lessons seem to fit that requirement. I reviewed many different YouTube versions. Many have good individual lessons but fail on others.
All of Alison's videos and books are clear and easy to follow. The lessons are divided into enough information but not too much at once. The rest is up to me.
Thanks for the great lessons. I'm only on lesson 8 of book one but feel very confident that my progress will move in a positive direction quickly.
